Dear Amira,

I can't speak of experience as discovery systems are not a subject in
our library yet. Although I am intrigued by your suggestion it strikes
me as too specific, especially the listing in the end. Furthermore,
there are other services used by a broad range of customers (link
resolvers, p.e. Ebsco A-Z versus Exlibris) that could use a similar
attempt. Therefore a more general clause that demands the support of
any services [even if competitive] used by customers might be more
interesting.

A few weeks ago, I sent a query to this list asking if anyone had used
or was familiar with licensing language to ensure that licensed
content would be able to be included, indexed and displayed in the
discovery system of the library's choice.  There were no replies
indicating that such language had been used or even existed.  In the
meantime, I did see the following language which was suggested by
Jirka Kende from the Universitaetsbibliothek der FU Berlin, who also
serves as chair of IGeLU (the international Ex Libris users group).  I
wanted to follow up to the list with this information and wonder if
there are any initial thoughts about it.   Again, I think that this is
a very important issue which librarians need to keep in the forefront
with publishers and content providers.

"[Vendor] shall make / shall continue making the content listed below
available through Discovery Service Provider such as Ex Libris¹ Primo
Central Index, Serial Solutions¹ Summon, EBSCO¹s EDS, OCLC' WorldCat
Local, etc. on a non-exclusive basis, to be used by such Discovery

Service Provider, on an on-going basis, with as comprehensive content
