Serials Review seeks an Assistant Editor who will work in conjunction with the Editor in Chief and Associate Editor to strengthen the journal’s visibility and support its continued growth. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the publishing process, liaise with Peer Reviewers and Authors, and uphold the integrity of a well-respected LIS publication. Deadline March 15, 2024

Specifically, we are eager to welcome someone to:

  • Assist the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor with recruiting and retaining Peer Reviewers and Contributors.
  • Contribute to the planning and intellectual development of regular and special themed issues.
  • Help manage the technical workflows associated with assigning Reviewers, sending reminders, etc. Final editorial decisions would be made by the EiC in collaboration with the AE.
  • Contribute to Calls for Content and then help distribute Calls and other marketable news/information through listservs, social media, and similar communication channels.
  • Respond to Help Desk inquiries about submission status. Escalate to EiC or AE when needed.
  • Contribute to a journal marketing plan, which would be implemented by the EiC, AE, and Assistant Editor
