Dear colleagues,

*With apologies for cross-posting*

We are still accepting registrations for next week's free UKSG webinar:
"Accessibility aspirations - the outcomes of the Aspire audit of e-book
accessibility statements and their implications for libraries"

Thursday 18 October 2018 at 1400 BST (British Summer Time)

For more information and to register (for the live event or recording),
please visit http://bit.ly/2DRjeFg

Speaker:
- Alistair McNaught, Subject specialist - Accessibility, Jisc

Learning outcomes:
- identify what makes a good accessibility statement and why it matters to
your print-impaired students
- understand the issues involved in finding the relevant information
- recognise the detrimental impact on your service where suppliers provide
poor information
- obtain objective, factual data to strengthen your case in arguing for
improved information from suppliers
- understand how to provide your own learners with better guidance to
support their accessibility independence

We welcome your questions during registration to help shape the webinar's
content. For instance, "At what point in the process can accessibility be
added if not at creation?"

UKSG webinars are:
- Recorded and the link to the recording provided to all active
registrations (so please do not cancel your registration if you find you
are subsequently unable to attend the live event). Feel free to register
for the recording alone.
- Open to all (you do not need to be a member of UKSG to register)
- Shared among colleagues (feel free to pass on this message)

NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS:
These are available at http://bit.ly/2DRjeFg
(Especially useful for those new to webinars or joining from an
institution.) We recommend you check your connection and consult your IT
department to make sure access will not be impeded.

ACCESSIBILITY:
If you have particular accessibility needs, please feel free to contact me
on [log in to unmask]

We look forward to welcoming you next week or hearing from you via
#UKSGwebinar.

With regards

Maria
