Would Mr. Beall have been sued if he published his opinion in a
national newspaper, or academic journal? Or given a professional
presentation to a limited audience on the subject? Should librarians
bow to coersion and intimidation when rendering opinions? Would he
have been sued if he had reported reults of research of those who
published with XYZ journal, and those authors reported calling the
publisher "criminal, etc." ?
I have a feeling lawsuits against librarians happens more often than
we might think.
