Subject: Re: Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em

This is a trademark issue, not a copyright one. There is a "use it or
lose it" aspect to trademark law--or so lawyers have told me. If a TM
holder does not enforce the trademark, it gets eroded. This puts an
organization into the position of having to defend itself against even
tiny transgressions because they can become cumulative. I learned
this lesson the hard way, sitting in a court room watching as an
attorney whittled away at my company's trademark. It was very
dispiriting.
