This is a reminder that CRL’s draft licensing terms and specifications
<https://www.crl.edu/electronic-resources/tools-resources> recommended for
use in negotiating agreements for large global datasets from providers are
still available for public comment. CRL has extended the deadline for
comments to *June 30, 2018*.

At CRL’s 2018 Global Resources Collections Forum
<https://www.crl.edu/events/crl-global-resources-collections-forum-2018> on
May 18, Stanford University’s Julie Sweetkind-Singer provided an overview
on how large geospatial datasets are being used as source materials for
scholars in a variety of disciplines, and the new types of library support
they require. The presentation provided valuable insight into conditions
and challenges of licensing geospatial data by libraries. The recording and
presentation slides can be found at the event webpage
<https://www.crl.edu/events/crl-global-resources-collections-forum-2018>.
