Dear all,

OASPA is pleased to announce the second webinar in our new *Open Science
Webinar Series,* in which we are inviting a number of speakers to consider
contemporary debates in open science and open access publishing.

The second webinar in the series will be the *OASPA Open Science Webinar: A
View from Researchers, Institutions and the Open Science Policy Platform.*

Date: Thursday 29th November 2018
Time: 3.00pm – 4.00pm GMT (other timezones: 7.00am PST, 9.00am CST,
10.00am EST, 12.00pm BRT, 4.00pm CET, 4.00pm WAT, 7.00pm SAST, 4.00pm IST)

This webinar is free and open to the public. Register for the webinar at
http://www.cvent.com/d/tbq4n2.

What is open science? This webinar provides a viewpoint on open science and
publishing from the perspective of researchers and those involved in
outreach and policy for research communication at institutions and on the
European Open Science Policy Platform. What is open science for them, how
does it relate to open access and publishing, and what role do they and
publishers have in the shift towards open science?

The webinar is chaired by Catriona MacCallum, Director of Open Science at
Hindawi. Our panelists are Dr Danny Kingsley, Deputy Director, Scholarly
Communication and Research Services at Cambridge University Libraries,
Professor Christopher Jackson, Earth Scientist at Imperial College London;
and Professor Eva Méndez, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Scientific Policy and
Open Science, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Chair of the EC’s Open
Science Policy Platform.

The event listing for this webinar, along with speaker biographies, can be
found at https://oaspa.org/oaspa-open-science-webinar-november-29th/.

Best wishes,
Leyla
