The Publisher/Vendor Relations Discussion Group of the ACRL Science &
Technology Section invites you to join us at the 2016 ALA Midwinter Meeting
in Boston for:
The Rise of the Mega Journal: Is Bigger Better?
Sunday January 10th, 8:30am-10:00am, Boston Convention and Exhibition
Center, Room 156C
The mega journal: open access, peer-reviewed, and typically defined by a
very large number of papers published compared to other scholarly journals.
In recent years a number of commercial publishers, scholarly and
professional societies, and university presses have branched out into this
relatively new form of scholarly communication. Please join us for a timely
discussion on the origin of the mega journal, and where it fits within the
larger publishing landscape.
Panelists:
* Dr. Nandita Quaderi Publishing Director, Open Research, Nature
Publishing Group
* Dr. Deborah Sweet Editor and Publishing Director, Cell Press
* Dr. Jason Wilde Chief Publishing Officer, American Institute of Physics
The panel moderator is Scott Warren, Associate Dean for Research and
Scholarship at Syracuse University Libraries
