OpenAccess sounds fine but the article doesn't mention how
editors/reviewers will get paid. They make journals prestigious as they
supposedly provide vigorous review of study reports, which makes it easier
for readers to appraise the study's validity and relevance to their own
practice. How to pay them is why Open Access has failed so far.
The article's note re librarians
"They want to preserve the money and power they have to finance the
subscriptions to the prestigious journals. They fear that if they don’t
have this money anymore, their role will be less important." is only part
of what we are supposed to be doing - providing quick and easy access to
journal articles for the various reasons a user's need arises -a reference,
a literature search etc.
