Dear Colleagues,

The next *Negotiation Skills for Librarians* online course will begin
January 31st 2018.



Aimed at library staff involved in negotiations with vendors for access to
information resources, the course is pitched at an
introductory-intermediary level and is ideal for colleagues who are new to
negotiations or who have some negotiation experience and are seeking a
‘refresher’ and/or additional knowledge and skills. It will also benefit
those being trained to undertake purchasing roles in the near future.



Over this 5-week fully-facilitated and experiential learning journey you
will:

   - strengthen your negotiation knowledge and skills
   - build your confidence and competence
   - explore 4 cornerstones, 7 habits and 5 guiding principles of
   successful negotiation
   - share a simple but effective model for building influence (developed
   by the FBI)
   - gain insight into the impact of mindset on negotiation outcomes
   - practice with realistic negotiation scenarios
   - be given a range of practical handouts to support you at every stage
   of negotiation
   - have access to expert interviews with leading librarians on a range of
   negotiation topics
   - benefit from the wisdom and experience of colleagues in your group
